Fang Photo Update – 2.9 Years Post Amputation

Hi guys,

It’s been a while, and I figured it’s time for a photo update, being that we’re only 5 days away from happy, healthy Fang’s 3 year Ampuversary! 😀 I had planned out all these neat shots to take of Fang, but as with all cats, Fang doesn’t really care about human plans. So, I just ended up taking pictures of him doing his normal stuff. Oh well, it’s his life. I just wish he had more appreciation for the arts. 😛

Fang running through the yard
‘I will not stay over here! I’ve got to run to you for pets!’ [repeat 5 times before mamma gives up on the photo]
Fang sitting near some pumpkins
‘Ah, so you’d like me to sit in this basket. I suppose I will, but butt out.’

Fang grooming himself with one paw
‘But, now seems the perfect time to groom!’

Fang being carried
‘I hate being carried, mom. [scowl]’
Fang licking his nose
‘I thought you wanted a photo of my licking my nose, no?’

Fang sitting on a chair
‘So, are we going to do stuff I want to do now?’

Fang playing with string
‘Yissss! String!’

Fang playing with string

Fang reaching for string

'Nom nom nom nom'
‘Nom nom nom nom’

'Okay, I'm done. [snore]'
‘Okay, I’m done. [snore]’

  1. You need to send in one of those for this year’s Tripawds calendar! I would definitely have a hard time picking which one, though. Kitty deadline is Saturday…just a nudge.

Kathi and the Turbotail April Angel…and the Labradork

  2. I absolutely love it. Hoppy 3 year ampuversary Fang. I can’t believe its been 3 years already. I think either I joined right after you did or right before but Fang had his amputation before Sassy. Sassy would have been having her 3 year Nov 14. I love love love these pictures. I wouldn’t know which one to pick either.

    Happy Catday too Fang

    1. By the way I love the quote “You aren’t doing it TO him, you are doing it FOR him. Give him a chance at life.”
I am going to borrow it and put it on my tag line if that is ok with you.

    2. Thank you Michelle & Angel Sassy for your congratulations! 🙂 Yes, I remember we followed Sassy closely as one of our amp-buddies. Sassy and Jilly were the closest to our date, I think. Sending our love. XOXO

  3. Happy belated 3 years Fang! 🙂
It was my kittys first year on the 31st for his Amputation & hes doing awesome. Im looking forward to keeping up with Fang some more 🙂

  4. Yay Fang! I’m actually reading this right now on 11/3 so that makes it your ampuversary right? Yaaaaay! Hoppy Ampuversary to the most rockin #TriKitty ever!

Chantal, I actually got to meet Erica and Jilly last night, and we talked about you and Fang and how amazing you were for jumping into Tripawds. Thank you for setting that ball of twine into motion, we are now able to help our feline friends with their own amputation journeys and will be forever grateful for your courage to join us. You ROCK!!

And by the way these are amaaaazing photos!!!

    1. Wow, I just read Erica’s blog — that’s so exciting that you got to meet Jilly! You guys move around so much, you seem to be everywhere at once most of the time! 😀

Thank you for the Ampuversary congratulations!

As you may remember, Fang’s ampuversary is shared with my birthday, so we had our usual joint celebration this year. Lots of cuddles, and I reminded him what a popular kitty he probably is with all the 3-legged kitty ladies out there. He doesn’t seem too impressed, heehee.

I really do thank the heavens for Tripawds every day — that the community is so friendly and helpful, that there is so much information available to help pet parents through the amputation journey, and that you guys opened your arms to a kitty when back then the community happened to be tuned more into doggy info. We wouldn’t have made the decision to amputate without all of your support, and I am so, so happy that we went through with it (and I know Fang is too!)
